2002年，阿富汗出租车司机迪拉瓦被指控参与恐怖行动，向美军发射火箭导弹，而被逮捕押入Bagram空军基地。数日后军方宣布迪拉瓦自杀身亡，但死者身上遍布伤痕，腿部伤势尤其严重，明显死前受到残酷虐待。
本片导演以迪拉瓦事件为切入点，通过大量资料、照片和采访，揭露了美国军队在阿富汗占领区乃至伊拉克、关塔那摩等地犯下的种种罪行。并进一步对美国政府、CIA和军队为获得军事情报所采取的非人道审讯措施的必要性进行讨论。
本片获2008年奥斯卡最佳纪录片奖。
